Family Day offers a glimpse of student life

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Families of first-year students at Georgia Regents University will get a glimpse of student life during Family Day, Saturday, Oct. 11.

The day will include individual programs for each college, and feature tours, laboratory demonstrations and more. GRU President Ricardo Azziz will also welcome students and guests from each college.

Family Day 2014 activities will include:

7 a.m. – Jaguar Jaunt Registration

8 a.m. – Jaguar Jaunt race begins

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Disc Golf Expo

10 a.m. to noon – Academic Colleges and Programs open house

10 a.m. to noon – Museum open for visitors

10 a.m. to noon – Campus historical tours given by 1828 Ambassadors. Tours begin at Blanchard Fountain.

11 a.m. – “What is the value of a liberal arts degree?” Presented by Dr. Andrew Goss, in Allgood Hall N126

11 a.m. – Flag Football Game, students vs. faculty/staff

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Lunch Available

11:35 a.m. – “Murder: She Wrote the Book,” a mini lecture on serial killers presented by Dr. Kim Davis, in Allgood Hall N126

7-9 p.m. – Greek Step Show at Maxwell PAT
