GRU to host Confucius Institute Day

AUGUSTA, GA – Georgia Regents University will host a day to explore the GRU Confucius Institute on Sept. 27 with free events at the Augusta Mall and the Augusta Kroc Center.

A day of events will lead up to a rousing evening performance from a martial arts group from Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing. Prior to the evening performance, attendees can enjoy a martial arts demonstration, language lessons, a showcase of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine and a calligraphy demonstration to learn how to write their names by brush strokes. And that evening, at the Kroc Center, attendees will enjoy a performance of dance and martial arts from Chinese artists.

The GRU Confucius Institute aims to offer Chinese language, culture and arts to the university and community, as well as deeper cultural understanding and patient centered benefits of Chinese traditional medicine in health professions therapies at local, regional, and national levels.
