IRC Tool spotlight: Google Classroom

AUGUSTA, GA – GRU College of Education students taking the Educational Technology class EDTD 3011 are using a new tool this semester. Google Apps for Education released Google Classroom on Aug. 11, and class instructor Jennifer Armstrong has already implemented it into the curriculum.

“Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click,” Armstrong said. “Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn’t completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.”

Google Classroom makes it easier to manage a paperless classroom by providing integration of other google productivity tools, such as Google Drive and Google Docs.

The best part of classroom is it is free to Google Apps for Education users.

For more information about Google Classroom, contact Google Certified Teacher Jennifer Armstrong, Ed.S., at 706-737-1659 or jearmstrong@gru.edu.
