Kinesiology major re-elected SGA senator

Gabriella Benavides was recently elected to the undergraduate Student Government Association at Augusta University.

Benavides is a senior kinesiology major from Lawrenceville, Ga. She has been involved with Student Government Association for two years, representing the College of Education. One of her goals this year pinpoints the importance of college-specific representation in problem-solving within student government.

“I would like to fix the issue with the shuttles arriving at Christenberry Field House. Students that do not have cars on campus need to use the shuttle service to get to their classes. This creates an issue in students that may need to take two shuttles to get to the Christenberry campus for their classes. I would like to accomplish a solution that will save students time when traveling between campuses,” Benavides said.

She is a student in the Honors program, and was recently elected vice-president of the Pre-PA Students Association. Over the summer, she will be working as a student assistant researcher in the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Summer Scholars’ Program.
