Alum wins prestigious South Carolina school counseling award

Elisha Ellison (MEd ’09), Silver Bluff High School Lead Counselor, was recently named the statewide School Counselor of the Year by the Palmetto State School Counselor Association (PSSCA). Ellison was also recognized as the prestigious WJBF NewsChannel 6 Golden Apple Award‘s first-ever school counselor winner in November of 2020. She will represent the District and South Carolina during the American School Counselor Association conference in 2022.

“I’m so humbled by this award,” Ellison said. “I’m just so grateful to have had such amazing support during my career from all my former colleagues to everyone here at Silver Bluff.”

Ellison is a 2009 graduate of the Augusta University College of Education’s Master of Education in Counselor Education degree program. We are so proud of the impact she is making on students in Aiken County Schools!
