Buning joins College of Education

Dr. Megan Matthews Buning when she began at Augusta University in 2014.

Dr.  Megan Buning has joined the department of Counselor Education, Educational Leadership and Research. Buning comes to Georgia Regents University from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss., where she received her Ph.D. and coached the Ole Miss softball team.

Buning’s research centers around female athletes, motivation, and coaching behaviors, specifically coach communication style. She will teach research methods, including quantitative methods, and tests and measurements.

Buning earned her M.S. from Florida State University. She earned her B.S. from the University of South Carolina, where she was an All-American pitcher and 2013 inductee in the USC Athletic Hall of Fame.
