Education professor wins university’s teaching excellence award

AUGUSTA, GA. – Dr. Rebecca Harper, professor of education, was recently awarded the Augusta University Individual Teaching Excellence Award.

This award honors a full-time member of the teaching faculty who demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching and student success. Harper’s interests include content area literacy, student conceptualization of writing, teacher beliefs and critical literacy. She is the program coordinator for the Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and the faculty advisor for Kappa Delta Epsilon.

Harper is also the university’s nominee for the University System of Georgia 2017 Felton Jenkins Jr. Hall of Fame Faculty Award.
