Literacy Center hosts successful children’s play

AUGUSTA, GA. – The Augusta University Literacy Center hosted several hundred children on Sept. 14 for a production of “The Tortoise and the Hare” by Porkchop Productions. Schools from the surrounding counties sent dozens of children apiece to enjoy the engaging story designed to promote love and interest in literature and reading.

The next production will be “Christmas, the Measels, and Me,” on Dec. 7. Reservations for the play series are available by contacting the AU Literacy Center. Seating is limited.
