Alum wins award for military support

AUGUSTA, GA. – Dr. Ja’net Bishop, Principal of the Columbia County Alternative School, was awarded a national citation on Oct. 11 by the Military Order of World Wars (MOWW) for her volunteerism as a veteran Army Officer.

Bishop is a 1998 graduate of the Georgia Regents University (soon to be Augusta University) College of Education Ed.S. program, and has dedicated 20 years to education. As the MOWW Vice Commander and Treasurer of the Augusta chapter, Bishop has participated in local Memorial Day and Veterans Day special programs, the Georgia Military College Ethics Bowl, the Eagle Scout Review Board and youth leadership programs.
